Protect your hearing while at work

For aviation crew (cabin attendants / baggage handlers / pilots / technicians / engineers etc) health and safety is the most important factor. One of the biggest threats to their health is loud noise which airline crew can be exposed to while flying or working in the vicinity of aircraft and helicopters. The volume produced by aircraft will exceed the safe level of 85dB easily but also the lower levels of noise from engines and rotors etc. can have damaging effects. An US study shows that the airline industry listed second only to metal manufacturing for having the highest hearing loss rate of all professions.

Helicopter Pilots

Commercial pilots

Helicopter pilots prefer the PACS Pro26 or if they require less sound reduction and clearer communication the Pro17. If helicopter pilots use their CEP (Communication Ear protection) it is also possible to have custom moulds made for this communication device.

Aircraft pilots of commercial airlines often choose the Pro17.

Aviation workers that e.g. work in the hangar or on the tarmac and need a class 5 hearing protector can check out our Pro27. This is also the preferred product for skydivers.

Pro26

The PACS Pro 26 earplugs are custom made to fit perfectly and feel comfortable no matter how long your shift is. Because they are small canal moulds these protectors fit perfectly under any headset. Communication is clear, while ears are protected at a high level. This is perfect during flight and while doing pre-flight checks. If less protection is required, check out our Pro17 earplugs.

Robust protection with a clear response for very high noise environment

The PRO26 is one of the strongest level-attenuating earplugs available, offering protection from the most challenging sound environments whilst ensuring that you can hear clearly and perform at your best at all times. The PRO26 offers the same incredibly natural sound as the rest of the PRO range while also offering a high-frequency peak which ensures that your hearing is protected from the most dangerous and intense sounds. Ideal for those working in the loudest of environments, the PRO26 offers clear communication, unparalleled comfort and tailor-made attenuation to ensure that you can stay in touch and in tune with your environment.

Extra strong protection but still in delicate balance

The PRO 26 filter offers some of the strongest attenuation in the PRO range but still keeps all of the frequencies in balance. This allows you to stay protected but perfectly in touch with your environment. Offering leveled response up to 4kHz, the PRO26 is perfect for those working in the loudest environments, allowing complete clarity in extreme noise. In addition, the PRO26 offers extra protection at the highest frequencies so you stay safe from the most intense sounds and can tackle your work with confidence.

The next generation of filter design

The PRO filter series has been designed anew with the wearer in mind. For starters, it’s smaller than many competing filters so that it can fit into smaller ears without any protrusion – which is great for both comfort and aesthetics as it will always fit snugly underneath a helmet. The filters are also user-interchangeable so you can alternate as your environment demands to any other filter in the PRO range giving you complete control over your protection with just a single set of earmoulds. In addition, the PRO series are water resistant so they can be used outside or in high moisture environments and can withstand perspiration without it damaging the filter membrane.

The curse of the occlusion effect

Trying to create a natural sounding earplug is no mean feat as far as your own voice is concerned because, as you may have experienced, when you block off your ear canal your own voice starts to boom inside your head (this is what we call occlusion). This is caused by sound that is carried to your ear canal through the cartilage at the side of your head which usually escapes through the open ear canal so is not heard. When we block off the canal this sound cannot escape and so creates that booming effect. A large amount of occlusion can be eliminated by ensuring that the earplug sits deep enough into the ear canal to extend past the cartilage. This ensures that the sound hits the plug and is deadened rather than entering the canal at all. The PRO filters go one step further by being vented to allow sound to pass both ways, meaning that remaining sound can escape directly through the filter providing one of the most natural sounding earplugs available.

Tailor made for you

The PRO26 ear plug is custom-made using soft medical-grade silicone so you get the very best in isolation and fit, allowing you to wear them for hours at a time without fatigue or discomfort. Each earpiece is manufactured to the highest standards ensuring you get a comfortable, discreet and effective hearing protector that can be fitted quickly, easily and securely every time.

PRO26 ear plugs and filters have been tested and certified to EN352-2: The European Standard for ear plug hearing protectors, which is almost identical to the AS/NZS1270 standards

CEP Custom Moulds
cep moulds

CEP devices come with standard buds which can cause sounds leaks or comfort issues. The solution is a custom tip made of medical grade silicone which not only provide a perfect sound seal it also is far more comfortable to wear for hours on end. The tips are small and discrete so they don’t stick out and are removable for easy cleaning.

Making your favourite even better

Many people already use in-ear headphones from a variety of manufacturers and have found their sound of choice for personal listening or even live monitoring. We offer a cost-effective custom-fit solution that can make your favourite earphones the best they can be with optimum isolation, superb comfort and a broader sound stage. If your earphones use balanced armature drivers you’ll know how important it is to get a perfect seal to make sure that you get the full dynamic range from your music.

The only tailor made fit

Although you’re already using the tips for your earphones that you find the most comfortable and that most likely give you the best isolation for your ear, the custom-fit experience is completely different. The custom-fit tip for your earphone is completely made to measure for your ear, so you get complete comfort without any feeling of pressure or tricky fitting techniques. Also when they warm to body temperature you can easily forget that you’re wearing them. As each tip is made to perfectly fit your ear canal, you’ll also find them to be more secure as they’re not using pressure to stay inside of your ear but are still perfectly snug.

Your very own listening room

Standard tips can provide varying isolation depending on the design of the tip, whether you choose to use foam or rubber tips and the shape of your ear. Using custom-fit tips gives you a perfect seal every time meaning you get up to 26dB isolation from outside noise. This means that you will get better clarity from your earphones because there is less external disturbance, meaning that you can listen at lower levels avoiding distortion and allowing your earphones to deliver the sound they were intended to unhindered.

Pro17
pro-17-1

Most pilots of commercial airlines prefer the Pro17 earplugs with these plugs; everything sounds natural but softer just like you have turned down the volume of the radio. The earplugs are small and discrete and comfortable to wear during long shifts.

A revolution in custom hearing protection

The PRO17 is the flattest response filter in the PRO range. The PRO17 gives one of the most accurate responses of any hearing protector with flat 17dB protection across the board. Keeping all frequencies in check relative to one another means you get to hear everything just as it should sound – but 17dB quieter with no loss of high or low frequencies. Not only does the PRO17 provide a balanced reproduction but its vented design reduces occlusion, giving your voice a more natural sound making the hearing protector more transparent so you can concentrate on your performance.

A sterling performance across the board

The PRO17 has one of the flattest responses of any hearing protector worldwide, offering an accurate representation for anyone that requires complete fidelity from their ear plugs. With an average attenuation of 17dB, the PRO17 is perfect for pilots and crew as they are able to extend your safe listening time by more than 5 times. The PRO17 keeps all the clarity of the sound by attenuating evenly throughout the frequency spectrum so you can listen and perform hearing everything you usually would but at a lower, safer level.

The next generation of filter design

The PRO filter series has been designed anew with the wearer in mind. For starters, it’s smaller than many competing filters, meaning that it can fit into smaller ears without any protrusion – which is great for both comfort and aesthetics. It fits easily under a helmet or headset. The filters are also user-swappable so you can chop and change as your environment demands to any other filter in the PRO range, giving you complete control over your protection with just a single set of earmoulds. In addition, the PRO series are water resistant so they can be used outside or in high moisture environments and can withstand perspiration without it damaging the filter membrane.
