The ACS PRO Series earplugs created a new era in level attenuating hearing protection. The PRO Series are vented to allow sound to pass both ways which means that remaining sound can escape directly through the filter providing one of the most natural sounding earplugs available.
You do not get used to noise, you gradually lose your hearing…
Every day, millions of people around the world are exposed to noise at work and all the risks this can entail. One in five European workers have to raise their voices to be heard for at least half of the time they are at work and 7% suffer from work-related hearing difficulties. Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) is the most common reported occupational disease in general but in mining in particular.
Discomfort and over attenuation (damping) are two of the main factors that result in incorrect fitting and use of hearing protection, especially when using disposable foam ear plugs or earmuffs. ACS Pro filters provide a large open air passage into the ear so minimising occlusion (blocked up sensation) and keeping the ear ventilated for the ultimate in user comfort.
Measurements taken by the Occupational Health and Safety Authorities show that at a speed of only 80 km/h the sound level under the helmet is over 90 decibels. Safe levels are 85 decibels and under.
